An incredibly grand view across Mount Rainier National Park in Washington state.
Amazing shot, pal!!!
Thank you very much for that great compliment my friend!! And thank you for all the extra faves!
Ominous yet...inviting You have some really awesome shots!
It was soooooo gorgeous standing there and seeing this!! Fell in love with this national park.
There's something about me and nature I just simply feel at one with it out there Becky...always have.
holy, this is amazing! i love it so much! no nice mountains here in Nova Scotia
Awwww thank you!!! I'm so glad you love this one! I loved how it turned out too actually. I've never had the privilege of making it to Nova Scotia yet....YET!! But it is definitely on my bucket list of places to go, along with PEI and Newfoundland. I grew up next to Canada I'm originally from the Niagara Falls area) and I've traveled all OVER your great country. I even drove all the way across Canada when we moved from Fairbanks - been to the Yukon Territory many many times, all over BC and Alberta, then traveled through Manitoba and Saskatchewan. I spent over 2 years back and forth to Quebec (Montreal) picking up all our new Bombardier jets for the airline I worked for, plus going skiing north of there....and then finally there's Ontario. I have canoed all over Algonquin, traveled from Thunder Bay to Toronto, watched the CN Tower being built. My wife and I took our 2 week honeymoon up at Banff and Jasper and all OVER the Canadian Rockies!! Soooooo as you can see, I have quite a connection with your country! Been to it my entire life and so many different facets of my life. So now you see why I want to come to Nova Scotia now!! I'm not done YET with you guys up there!!!
lol, wow thats so awesome! i wish i could say the same, i've never been state side before i really want to though! i always wanted to go to Oregon
yeah, canada is like, 80% percent unpopulated wilderness, so its pretty much an adventurers' paradise hahaha. if you ever get back to quebec, go a little further north up to Quebec City, that place is awesome. and the archipellago up north, its a part of Nunavut, theres 36,000 islands, its kinda like someone took Alaska and smashed it into puzzle peices and scattered them over the arctic ocean, and no one ever takes pictures of them. thats kinda the cool thing about up here, we're so under-populated, esspecially Nunavut, theres more islands than people lol, so theres not as many people around to take pictures. i mean, for some places in canada is literally impossible to find pictures of them, you just gotta go see it yourself lol.
its hard finding work in the maratimes, so theres been a mass migration west, a few years ago i went out to Alberta looking for work, i went from Halifax to Moncton, to Rivière-du-Loup, to Quebec City then Montreal, Sault ste Marie, but the best places were the strange little places in between, like Serpent River, Terrace bay, Shabaqua, all impossible to find pictures of lol.
and if you do come east, i would suggest Newfoundland first. its the best fer sure
That is some great great advice on Canada!! Thank you so much for that!! And you'd really love Oregon...along the coast that is. The whole Pacific Northwest from Northern California (where all the Redwoods are), up thru Oregon (Crater Lake), into Washington (the Cascades and Mount Rainier), then back east to Idaho is allllllll GORGEOUS!! By the way, my name is Michael. And what's YOUR first name?
Thank you so much Linda!! Even when the weather turned on me, I still made the MOST of it.
Quite lovely, especially with the gradient of colors and layers, although the non-lit portions are a bit too dark to my eye. Where in the park is this?
Awww thank you Hannah!! Glad you liked it. Yeah, the dark areas of that mountain side is from the very dark clouds moving in. I do like that they're darker than the background though....I wanted the viewer's eyes to focus more on the middle to far off areas than the foreground, but also keep it balanced as far as the layering. It was worth the shot. As far as WHERE we were when I shot this, I believe I was right south of Paradise and taking my shot to the west....so of course Rainier would have been off to my right.
Thank you Ricardo!! What a gorgeous national park Rainier is!! That was me and my wife's first time there!
lovely layers of blue!
Thank you so much!! That's what I loved about it too! Hope you'll want to put some in your faves folder too someday. Thanks again!
This is so much more beautiful since you captured the magic of this incredible place so wonderfully!
So blue and beautiful! the view is so serene
