I believe it's NEAR Nunamaker Road, but not ON it. I don't think I've ever driven on that road getting to or from Palouse Falls. You're in Italy...how would you know about such a small farm road Roby? Are you originally from this area?? You've got me curious now.
well... that's a funny thing! In august I made a trip through Washington and Oregon with my family, and we were driving south from Spokane to reach Palouse Falls State Park, while the navigator told us to leave 261 and turn left in Nunamaker Road! In fact I saw later in the evening that it was a kind of shortcut! Or...better, it would have been a shortcut if it wasn't a dirt road! Anyway we start laughing and it was really funny And I took a picture at a barn just on the side of Nunamaker Road that was really similar to the one in your photo, so I asked you that
There are very few shots this seemingly simple that really work for me; this is one of them. I don't know if it's the roof turning effectively white, the barn resembling a digitally painted image, or the soft clouds that look as if they were painted with a brush, but this composition works... and then some. Gorgeous.
Wow!! Thank you so much for that great compliment Erik! That whole area of central Washington (in the Palouse) is so photogenic! You'll find quite a few photos I've shot in the Palouse within my gallery. And I agree with you, it's such a simple photo, but man there was something about that lonely barn waaaay out there that just caught my eye that day. Thanks again! ~Michael
